Many subject-terms in crime prevention are not used consistently whether that is within single European countries or between them. However, the increasing integration of Europe requires a coherent set of crime prevention terms. The Beccaria Glossary offers definitions of crime-prevention subject-terms in several languages.
During the first phase of the glossary’s development the definitions can be offered in German and English. An upgrading of the glossary through the addition of other European languages is planned. The Beccaria Glossary is continuously updated.
Instructions for Use
First of all, please choose the language of the term you want to search.
You then have two possibilities to organise your search:
- Please type in the desired term in the search bar and click on the “search” button.
- Please click on a letter in the provided alphabetical list. A list comprising all terms with this letter at the beginning will open. You can now chose the term whose definition you are searching for.
The glossary will offer you the terms’ definition in German and English language, whereas the first definition is always in the language chosen at the beginning of the search.
